Health & Safety /Environmental Advisor - Based at Gatwick - required to work across all sites (England & Scotland)

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure that the company meets its obligations under both statutory and common law Health & Safety and Environmental regulations by developing, implementing and reviewing robust management systems, policies and procedures. To be responsible for the provision of proactive specialist support, advice and guidance and facilitating H&S training to achieve high standards of health & safety risk management. Also to be responsible for helping to administer and create the Environmental standards for Dolby Vivisol and ensuring Dolby Vivisol adheres to these standards. This role is involved in the completion of internal audits, maintenance of the standard operating procedures and reporting of serious incidents to the customer as well as looking at opportunities for continuous improvement in both key areas of H&S and Environmental policy.

HOURS

Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm 

PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

i) To provide advice, support, training on all aspects of health & safety and environmental policy

ii) To ensure that robust systems are in place for the identification, management, reporting investigation and learning from health & safety incidents including serious incident investigation

iii)To ensure that actions are identified and undertaken to reduce the risk of health & safety related incidents occurring and to improve outcomes in relation to patients, staff and visitor safety

iv) To manage the production and coordination of H&S risk assessments and audits, developing and implementing and monitoring action plans to reduce identified areas of risk and escalating concerns if required

v) To administer the company’s health & safety/Environmental committees and any other relevant meetings, preparing briefing papers and coordinating reports and policies for executive approval

vi) To establish, develop and maintain company databases and reporting systems relating to H&S and reporting statistics as required

vii)To organise and maintain fire risk assessments and organise the servicing  of fire extinguishers for all UK sites

viii) To liaise with external assessors and regulators, providing information and evidence as required for ISO accreditation's

ix) To ensure up to date knowledge of all regulatory framework and best practice, making the company aware of changes as they arise in both H&S and Environmental policy

x) To research, design and develop relevant H&S and risk management training programmes

xi) To work in conjunction with HR to ensure all statutory H&S/Environmental training is identified and scheduled timeously

xii) To help ensure the company reaches its goal of meeting Carbon Neutral and help develop environmental policies

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

The post holder may be required to travel to all UK sites and offsite meetings as required.
