Covid-19 Response

    Monday, March 23, 2020

With the news dominated by Coronavirus, we wanted to let you know that we are vigilantly implementing enhanced protocols to ensure safety.

COVID-19 brings both a health impact and an economic impact to our country.

At Dolby Vivisol we have to change the way that we conduct several aspects of our work but we need to find the way to make sure that our essential patient support continues. Our critical focus is to stay safe and follow government guidance.

Our patients are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 and so we must take great care to help with their self-isolation:

    • We will stop conducting non urgent activities such as concentrator services, risk assessments, tap assessments and tap installs and wherever possible we will work to minimise the amount of time that we spend in patients’ homes
    • Introducing doorstep drops where appropriate so that cylinder replenishment can be conducted without entering the patients home
    • Full PPE equipment will be used and worn by our field technicians when dealing with all patients that are self-isolation and displaying signs of COVID-19
    • We will no longer be taking meter readings as these are normally taken during service visits. However to ensure we continue to provide NHS patients on Oxygen the reimbursement they require they will receive a payment based on their known historical usage until this critical time has passed
    • When we are talking to our patients over the phone we will spend the right amount of time to deal with their questions and to help and reassure them. They may be feeling quite vulnerable and we need to support them

Every day the guidance from the Government and NHS changes and we are working closely with NHSE to discuss the direction that not only Dolby Vivisol needs to take but all suppliers of Oxygen. Our priority is the safety of the patients and our technicians visiting those patients and as such our service needs to be fluid as this situation changes.

We are closely monitoring the guidance of the World Health Organization regarding the spread of the virus and our focus is to ensure we are doing our part to keep patients and our employees safe.

    Here’s what we’re doing

    • We’ve enhanced our already robust cleaning techniques of our offices, depots, filling plants and vehicles. We have deep-cleaned our facilities and sterilising wipes and gels are widely used and readily available
    • We’ve implemented additional sanitisation of all returned oxygen cylinders and other medical devices using approved products and methods
    • We have conducted a company-wide training programme to reiterate good hygiene practices in all our divisions, and are constantly encouraging all employees to be vigilant and follow the latest government advice and guidance
    • Our service already utilises the latest technology which is now allowing our staff to work from home during this particularly difficult time

Take care of yourselves and your loved ones – stay safe.

We are continuing to follow developments closely and are regularly in touch with NHS colleagues. Our guidance and protocols will continue to evolve dependent on the recommendations from national and international bodies.
