Our team take on Trek26 - united against dementia

Dolby Vivisol is proud to say that three members of our team have taken on a challenge to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Society campaign, 'United Against Dementia'.

Jane Normann - HR Director, Jo Hobbs - Clinical Manager and Mark Lamble - Service Delivery Director, donned walking boots/trainers and took part in last Saturday's (5th June 2021) Trek26 London. 

The challenge, Trek26 London, is an epic 26-mile trek around London. The route starts at Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens and takes the participants through popular tourist attractions and landmarks including Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and St. Paul's Cathedral. 

Jane explained, "The event was very well organised and allows you to enjoy the sites and hidden treasures of London whilst raising funds for a worthy cause."

The team were part of 1,500 participants who took part on Saturday. The numbers were unavoidably restricted due to maintaining Covid-19 safety measures. Collectively, the participants have raised more than £500,000 - what a fantastic achievement for a great cause.

"One in three people will develop dementia in their lifetime so we were pleased to be able to take part in Trek26 to help support the Alzheimer's Society", Mark said. 

Jo commented, "The news of a new drug to target the cause of Alzheimer's was released just after this challenge shows how productive these events are."
